Wendi Lester Efflandt

President / Founder

Wendi was born in Tyler, Texas, in 1974. She grew up in East Texas and from a young age had a love for missions, working many years with children at Cedars Camp in Lebanon, Missouri, as a counselor and later camp director. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Rehabilitation Sciences, she attended Baylor Law School, graduating in 1998, and began her own successful law practice, Heritage Law. Wendi became active in international missions after being invited on a trip to Haiti in 2015 by fellow Board Member Cary. She would travel to Haiti 6 more times while beginning her mission programs in Kenya in 2016. To date Wendi has traveled to Kenya numerous times and has researched issues such as Malaria Prevention, FGM and forced early marriage, sustainable business models and orphan care. Wendi has also worked in Children's Ministries for many years, coordinating VBS and children's events, and has served on boards of other nonprofits such as Agape Pregnancy Center, Boys & Girls Club of Georgetown, and Williamson County Legal Society. Wendi is married to Scott, a veteran who retired from the Army after 35 years of service, and has two amazing sons, Jack and Miles, who accompany her on many of her mission endeavors.

Cary Cain

Secretary / Director

From her childhood until now, Cary Cain's life finds its center in service. Raised the daughter of an evangelical minister, Cary spent most of her early years in local churches throughout the Southwestern United States; in these small, tight-knit faith communities, she gained teaching and training from godly role models and learned the value of Christian service. From volunteering in church nurseries, to teaching Sunday school classes, to participating in youth mission trips, Cary finds great joy and fulfillment when sowing into the lives of others. In recent years, Cary's heart turned toward international missions and to work with the disenfranchised and underrepresented. A mission trip to Haiti opened her eyes and heart to what becomes possible when a group of God's people join forces to help those in need. A graduate of Mary Hardin-Baylor University, Cary brings over two decades of experience as an entrepreneur, operations officer, project manager and bookkeeper to her role with For Just One. Her heart for service, along with her management skills and expertise in business operations, make her work with For Just 1 a true labor of love.

Bob Gober

Board Member

Bob traveled to Kenya in October 2019 as part of a Mission Team distributing Mosquito Nets, School Supplies and Eyeglasses to those that needed them. On the trip Bob and the team visited several orphanages, children's hospitals and various churches throughout the country. Since 2011, Bob has been working with True Hope and Hill Country Bible Church Georgetown in Mission efforts in Piedras Negras, Mexico, serving the local community through the Great Tamale Project, construction projects and Backyard Bible Clubs. Bob's community involvement includes Love Georgetown Service Project, Food for the Hungry, Reveal Resource Center, We Are Blood, and Agape Pregnancy Resource Center. Bob has also served as a Deacon with First Baptist Church Georgetown and Westover Hills Church of Christ in Austin across Men's Ministry, Children's Ministry, Family Ministry, and Missions. He previously served as the Youth and Family Minister for Western Hills / Oak Hills Church of Christ, leading medical mission trips to Mexico, and as a student at Abilene Christian University served as Student Leader for Continent of Great Cities missions in Brazil.

Terence Davis

Board Member

Terence Davis graduated from St. Mary's Law School in 2000. He married his wife, Romy, in 1996, and has two daughters, Brianna and Elliana. He has been active in his local church, Journey Bible Fellowship, since 2003 and is currently on the board of directors. He has served his community on the Board of the Williamson County Bar Association, as President of Williamson County Christian Legal Society, as a Children's Leader with Bible Study Fellowship for ten years, and leads a men's ministry at his church.

Paul Muthama

Project Coordinator / National Coordinator (Kenya)

Paul Muthama was born in Machakos, Kenya. He is married to Pastor Lucy Muthama and has five children and one adopted Congolese refugee daughter. He has been active in his local church, St Mark ACK Oloontoto in Kajiado County, since 2015, and serves as chairman of the Kenya Anglican Men Association and as chairman of village elders in Kajiado. Paul has over 25 years of professional driving experience and has served in organizations implementing community-based programs (PACT, now ACT). He also trained with Glen Edmund Defensive Driving School and in anti-terrorism and anti-riot skills. Paul began as a driver with Wendi and Kevin Pieper distributing mosquito nets in Migori County to orphans, widows, and children for over five years before For Just 1 was formally established. He is currently the national coordinator of For Just 1 projects in Kenya.

Jane Lucy Muthoni

Cultural Coordinator / Teaching Consultant

Jane Lucy Muthoni was born in Embu, Kenya. She is married to Stanley Odour and has two children, Declan and Hawi. She holds a Diploma in Business Administration (2001) and a Bachelor's in Business Leadership and Management with a focus on human resources. Jane has years of experience in women-empowerment programs: four years as a business development officer at Kenya Women Finance Trust (KWFT), and three years as a project officer at the Disability Community Centre (DCC) implementing Self Help Group programs for women and children. Through Paul Muthama she met Wendi in July 2018; together they have traveled across Kenya empowering girls, teaching reproductive health, and distributing reusable sanitary pads to vulnerable girls in numerous schools. Jane is currently self-employed as a realtor.

Jeff Paull

From an early age, Jeff knew that he wanted to become an entrepreneur for the options & freedom that it could bring to him and his future family. Along that journey, Jeff had the opportunity to be mentored by some incredible leaders who were able to help him align his business goals & crusader’s heart to serve people not only in his community, but worldwide. Jeff & wife, Alyse, opened their financial services business in 2006 & have helped thousands of families reach their financial goals & beyond. Jeff, Alyse & their children, June, Hazel & Amos, are active members in their community, committed partners of Antioch Georgetown Church & are so excited to partner with For Just 1 to create tangible change in the country of Kenya & to spread the good news of Jesus.
